Davison Elementary Middle School is a PK-8 Learning Facility that has been recognized by the Skillman Foundation as a high performing school. We are a National Blue Ribbon School and Golden Apple Award Winner for our outstanding achievement.
Davison is a MicroSociety School, where the students participate in student run and operated businesses and agencies. All students participate in MicroSociety which builds character and develops the students academically as they write business plans, apply for positions and manage employees. We are a very diverse school and we embrace our cultural diversity. Currently, we have a population that varies between 675- 700 of which reflects a student population of African American, Bangladeshi, Polish and Arabic students.
We also support special education programs (Cognitively Impaired, Learning Disabled, Deaf and Hearing Impaired).
Our exceptional instructional and non instructional staff are highly qualified, certified, motivated and are child-centered in their approach to education. Our support staff is outstanding and ready to support the various needs of our students. We have a full time Speech Teacher and Social Worker. We also have part time Physical Therapist, Nurse, Occupational Specialist, and Hearing Impaired Speech Therapist and Social Worker for the Hearing Impaired.

In addition, we annually sponsor Spelling Bee, Declamation Contest, Poptastic Program, Honors Program, 4.0 Celebration, Black History Program, Monthly Parent Meetings, Science, Math and Writing Fair, Family Fun Night, Mother/Daughter Tea, Father/Son Adventure and Father/Daughter Dance, Grade Level Field Trips, Open House and numerous other activities to motivate and education students. We also have business partners that support education which include: Lenscrafters (eye glasses), Mobile Dentist (dental exams) and Birmingham Rotary Club (Financial Literacy and Classroom Libraries).

About the Principal
Dianne N. Holland in a native Detroiter and has been an educator/administrator in Detroit Public Schools System for the past 35 years. She has been recognized for her work as a teacher (Special Education and Regular Education) and an administrator (Staff Coordinator, Assistant Principal and Principal). Some of the recognition includes the Booker T. Washington Award, Principal of the Year Award and the Administrative Excellence Award. Ms. Holland received her education at Wayne State University with a Bachelors, Masters, Education Specialist Degree and is a candidate in the Doctoral Program at Wayne State University. Ms. Holland believes in educating the “whole child.” She continues to secure effective programs, refine curriculums, support highly qualified staff and encourages students to be confident high achievers.
